I hope you all had great Christmas and New Year’s celebrations! After all that chocolate and prosecco, do you feel ready to get back to reality?… No? Didn’t think so!
I love Christmas and always feel a little bummed out when it’s over. I absolutely hated going back to school when I was a kid… thank God I don’t have to do that anymore! Even though I don’t have to go back to school or go back to anything that I really don’t want to do after Xmas, I still miss the sparkle of the season. I miss the quality time with family and friends, the almost-guilt-free eating, and the thoughtfulness of gifts.
To make sure that I don’t feel too down in the dumps after Christmas, I always make sure I have something to look forward to. For the past 3 years, I’ve hosted a New Year’s Ritual with some friends. Basically, it’s a party with food and drink, but for part of the evening, I guide everyone in giving thanks for the year that’s passed, and welcoming the new year with optimism.
This year, I organised for everyone to create a Vision Board for 2017. Creating a vision board allows you to put your dreams and goals down on paper. We used magazines to choose pictures to represent our aims and created colourful boards to visualise what we want to achieve this year. You can create a board just for you, or do one as a couple, or even make one as a family with your kids.
I find that vision boards are a really good way of becoming clear on what you want more of in your life. Since you see it in front of you, it helps you to take the necessary steps to achieve those dreams.
All you need to create a vision board is: cardboard, a couple of magazines, scissors and glue. Put on some good music and enjoy the process.
Sending you love as always xx
And wishing you a directive, fulfilling year 🙂
